Organizational Structure Name: The name of this organization is the Shawnee Twin Lakes Association (STLAssn). Mailing Address: Shawnee Twin Lakes Association P.O. Box 223 Shawnee, OK 74802-0223 Purpose: The Shawnee Twin Lakes Association (STLAssn) is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code. Objectives include: Promote and protect the Shawnee Twin Lakes. Improve security and safety around the lakes. Provide education on lake-related topics. Provide an opportunity to work and socialize with others who have an interest in the welfare of the Shawnee Twin Lakes. Share information. Represent the interests of members to Shawnee city officials. Membership: Membership shall be available to all persons with an interest in promoting the welfare of the Shawnee Twin Lakes. Board of Directors: The governing board of the Shawnee Twin Lakes Association shall be called the “Board of Directors” and shall consist of four Officers (Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer) and five board members, elected as defined in the Association By-Laws. Prohibitions: The association is prohibited from participating in any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office; however, non-partisan activities to encourage people to register and vote are allowed. Dissolution: Upon the dissolution of this organization, assets shall be distributed for one or more exempt purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code, or shall be distributed to the federal government, or to a state or local government, for a public purpose.
